Carmelo Blandino

Carmelo Blandino is a contemporary painter based in Naples, Florida, whose sole subject has been the flower: its shape, form, color, and texture treated not as botanical illustration, but as an inexhaustible source of fascination, with the challenge of the practice lying in painting the flower through its many alterations. Working in distinct series developed over more than a decade, among them Impulses, Ethos, Contemplation, Convergence, the Redouté Series, and the Chopin Études, he treats each canvas as part of an ongoing inquiry rather than a single, finished statement, letting form emerge through repetition, patience, and revision. Some bodies of work strip color away entirely to focus on line and structure, while others draw on music, botanical tradition, or meditative practice as their starting point, each series carrying its own internal logic while remaining part of a larger, continuous body of thought.
