James Casabere
For more than thirty years, James Casabere has been building models that he then photographs in his studio. To create these table-sized constructions, Casabere draws inspiration from architecture, art history, and cinema, extracting elements from them while retaining only certain details. Beginning in 1992, he has focused particularly on institutional spaces and the inherent relationships between social control and the structure of society, thereby elevating his work to a level of sophistication unmatched by his contemporaries.
