Peter Anton is an American sculptor celebrated for his hyperrealistic works depicting confections, cakes, and desserts in trompe-l'œil. Executed in polyurethane foam, resin, and acrylic paint, his sculptures of chocolates, candies, and ice cream sundaes are disconcertingly faithful to their real-world models. His work interrogates our relationship to indulgence, desire, and overconsumption with knowing humor and dazzling technical mastery, transforming the banal into an object of artistic contemplation.
