Tom Wesselmann

Born in 1931 in Cincinnati and passed away in New York in 2004, Tom Wesselmann is a defining figure of American Pop Art. He is celebrated for his Great American Nude and Still Life series, in which he depicts the female body and everyday objects with vivid color and sharp contours. His work explores the relationships between desire, consumption, and popular culture, appropriating advertising codes and transforming them into pictorial language. His Steel Drawings, laser-cut from steel, demonstrate a constant formal inquiry.
