Light and its different manifestations are the main interests of German artist Udo Nöger. Each painting consists of several layers of canvas stretched onto a frame. Abstract and organic shapes painted, or carved inside the canvas, give the impression of emitting light.

From his California (USA) studio Nöger creates monochromatic gray and white works that have been emblematic of his practice since the late 1990s.
